Mansfield Park / Jane Austen

It is a story of Fanny Price. Her family sends her at age ten to live in the household of her wealthy aunt. It follows her early adulthood. Regency critics praised the novel's wholesome morality. The Victorian consensus treated Austen's novels as social comedy. To Susan Morgan (1987), Mansfield Park was the most difficult of Austen's novels, featuring the weakest of all her heroines yet one who ends up the most beloved member of her family.

The novel may be read as a parody of the full-blown romanticism and sensibility that was fashionable around the 1790s. Actually the title describes how to find a balance between sense and sensibility in life and love. It is also famous for Austen's wit. 

Pride and Prejudice / Jane Austen

Title: Pride and Prejudice

The story is Elizabeth Bennet as she deals with issues of manners, upbringing, morality, education, and marriage in the society of the landed gentry of early 19th-century England. Elizabeth is the second of five daughters of a country gentleman living near the fictional town, near London.
